Yo, I been really enjoying listening to a lotta phonk lately. So much so that I made 4 hour, 100 track playlist. And I just wanted to share it with anyone whos seeing this post right now: Here you go if you feel like listening to the thing

I’m also pretty curious about like.. so many people know about the tiktok drift phonk stuff but does anyone thats listening to that stuff even listen to the original, like.. true Phonk? Because now drift phonk has gotten really popular and viral on tiktok like in 2021 i think, and many people definitely associate the Phonk genre with the cowbell stuff. But drift phonk has, in my opinion, deviated pretty heavily from og phonk (at least in the sound id say). And the subgenre has grown a lot and completely god damn overtaken the original. And drift phonk just became the whole genre in the general poublics eye.

I mean change is not bad or anything, I more so find it pretty interesting and kinda fascinating how this genre has evolved.

By the way, I literally came from the cowbell phonk community in 2021, and I hate listening to cowbell phonk now. Funny how that has changed. (To explain why) I just find listening tiktok phonk cliche now (maybe because i hate tiktok). And the sigma cringe trend thing being ascociated with this earlier this year has absolutely NOT helped me to like tiktok phonk more. Plus I just find the og phonk aesthetic much more appealing that the very oversaturated tiktok phonk.

Well now imma show you what made me even start thinking about this little thing just now...

Basically I was browsing some phonk playlists and found THIS DESCRIPTION under of them. (I reccomend reading the description of the playlist there to understand what imma talk about now.) I MEAN what the hell is going on there. That I kinda find insane. GET EDUCATED?! the hell bro? Mans tryna sound cool as hell tellin people to get educated dude you aint a grandpa (i think, if they are listening to phonk id guess not).

But brotha, shut up dude, music is created for enjoyment, this is kind of strange, being angry just cause artist make cowbell noise and call phonk is cringe. To be honest, it is kinda unfair to the og phonk, that people think phonk is strictly just cowbells, but it does no good just being mad about it. You know, even though I find tiktok phonk really cliche and oversaturated, I don’t care, I just don’t pay mind to it. Listen to whatever the balls you want. Dont gatekeep, it does no good.
